Hurray! FCC Adopts Net Neutrality Rules.
I’m in a celebratory mood now that FCC has sided with adopting the Net Neutrality rules that have been running the Internet since it became available for use by the general public in 1997 - free for all to see and hear; free of censorship from all angles top to bottom; promoting Internet freedom and creativity without prejudice. The bottom line, the Internet has been preserved as is. The definition of what Net Neutrality varies between individuals but overall, the general public agrees that corporations controlling what we see online is not what we want. The flip side of Net Neutrality is control which boils down to censorship for profit.
My instinct tells me that no one or any entity have any control of anything within the realm of the Internet – once you’re in you’re free to go wherever you want.
The portals and entryways to online bliss is where the corporate giants belong who would like to offer their version of the Internet world where they cater to all your thoughts and desires for a price – remember the movie trilogy The Matrix? The price you pay is actually privacy which is way too high for me.
Note that the Net Neutrality rules only applies to cables and wires that connects the Internet users together – it does not apply to Wireless Networks. They have a different set of rules altogether.
The bottom line: The Internet has been preserved as it exists today, for now.
