SEO Marketing is about Building a Solid Foundation

googleA client was questioning our SEO strategy which to my reply:

As far as SEO is concerned, per our telephone conversation, the SEO work that we did is the underlying groundwork that is necessary in order for your website to rank high on search engines. It is a lot like building the foundation of a house. If you build your house on sand, it will eventually sink. If you build it using cheap lumber, it will eventually fall apart. By having the SEO work done, your website (house) is now built on solid ground with good solid framework. However, the owner of the website still has to furnish the house with all the right furniture, decoration and all the trimmings – this is where you come in. Only YOU can improve on this area.

Don’t let anybody else sell you any SEO work because they’ll just take your money and not do anything.

All of the accounts I’ve set up are necessary components in building a successful online marketing campaign. Yes, these accounts do not cost anything and they can be easily found if you do enough research which took me a long time to put together and figure out which is good and which is bad. These took years of experimenting what works and what doesn’t. So I’ve bundled it together for you so that they work together. Most web site marketing companies don’t even do half the stuff we do, if they even do it. Most of them rely on a marketing software that they purchased or built – which 99.9% are junk and are not even acceptable to search engines.

In essence, all of the setup I did and the seo module we installed on your wordpress should do the job – IF – you fill your site with the right content – that is focused on your key services – which is in your case, public relations and online advertising. But if you’re site is filled ONLY with 3rd party affiliate ads, the SEO that we did will not work to your advantage – it might actually work against you. Now that the website is optimized for a public relations and online marketing, you need to deliver quality content related to these your services.

Which is the best browser – IE, Firefox, Safari or Chrome?

I read a recent article on PCWorld Magazine October 2010 issue regarding common myths about technologies and one of them was browser vulnerabilities.  According to the article, they first reviewed Symantec’s twice-yearly Internet Security Thread Report which indicates the total number of vulnerabilities for 2009.  Firefox had the most at 169, followed by Safari coming in at 94, Internet Explorer (IE) at 45 and Google Chrome at 41.

Yahoo – Bing Search SEO Editorial Guidelines

Yahoo has provided a web site for its advertisers advising them of the changes to take affect during the transition period of Yahoo Search results being managed and operated by Microsoft AdCenter and Bing search program before the end of the year.  Per Yahoo’s Transition Center “beginning in early August, a new set of Editorial Guidelines will be in effect for all paid search advertisers using Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft Advertising adCenter.

Microsoft Bing & Yahoo Search Alliance – Organic Search Transition

In accordance to my Yahoo Account Update that I received via email today, Thursday, July 15, 2010, Yahoo’s organic listing will be powered by the Bing search engine program beginning in the August/September timeframe of this year (2010).  Yahoo is advising its advertisers to start preparing for the transition in case of any unforeseen changes that could dramatically affect its advertiser’s business revenue.

Since the Internet has many use and various form of medium and protocols, when I refer to Internet Marketing (as in the blog title) for the sake of this blog, it is in reference to Search Engine Optimization – which uses the Internet protocol of http (hyper text transfer protocol) – commonly referred to as the World Wide Web. Another popular Internet protocol used in Internet Marketing is the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) – for blasting out emails.
