How to Market Your Business Online?
GoogleAds, BingAds and Yahoo! are three of the biggest online search platform in the world! They are the pioneers of the Internet. They were the top three search companies that started when the Internet came out. So it will only make sense that we market our website via Google, Yahoo! and Bing to get the proper exposure online worldwide. If we can be found within these search engines, then we are on our way to success.
The first step is to register your company with each search engine company using Google Places and Google Webmaster Tools. Bing and Yahoo! has similar services: BingPlaces and Bing Webmaster Tools. Google Places will verify your business location on the map while the Google Webmaster Tools will verify that you own the website. Once these two are established, then we can move on to other Google Services like GoogleAds. The procedure is the same for Bing and Yahoo.
Search Engine Marketing: GoogleAds is a marketing program that utilizes the pay-per-click billing system. You simply enter a few select keywords that you want your website to be found under, place your maximum bid on the keyword(s) and click SAVE. When an online visitor searches for your product and enters your keyword in the search box, the system will display your link on the search results and if clicked, you will be charged for that click - which could range from a few pennies to several dollars depending on the popularity of the keyword, time of day, other competitive bidders, etc. The system has a lot more features than what I am describing but I hope you get the picture. Bing and Yahoo! has the same services and features. It is called Pay-Per-Click Campaigns.
Direct Mail: Not all marketing campaign strictly utilizes Google, Bing and Yahoo. You can communicate with your current customers via direct mail. This can get expensive but it works. One example is a car repair business who specializes in Toyota and Nissan. We contacted the local Department of Motor Vehicles and purchased the names, addresses, telephone numbers and emails of all people who registered a Toyota and/or Nissan. Then we simply communicated with these car owners via regular mail or telephone. We only market to them which keeps our costs down. We also setup Google Ads so we can be sure that we display when searched for our company. We want to make sure that when people receive our mailers, they can find us online.
Face-to-Face Marketing: Why not promote to the people you meet everyday. A successful salesperson meets 10 new people everyday. You can promote to them. Don't hesitate to approach them. They are not going to kill you...I don't think. I certainly hope not. LOL. A simple hello and you pass your business card while introducing yourself to them. Talk about the convenience of what they can do at your website. How they can utilize the features and services provided in the website and why they need to keep coming back to keep their lives in order.
